Some of my student work

Hello!

I've recently been studying graphic design and illustration.
Here are some examples of my student work.

I'm new to this game - so any helpful comments would be most gratefully received!

Thanks for looking.

Level 2 - illustration

This assignment was free-choice - the last assignment at level 2 before deciding whether to specialise in graphic design or illustration at level 3. Illustration wasn't something that I had even considered when I started the degree, it just came as a package with graphic design! But now I would really like to illustrate for a living!

As I also love gardening I decided to illustrate two existing texts from the Guardian newspaper weekend magazine by Carol Klein.

Here are the results.

Level 2 - editorial illustrations

Editorial illustrations for a given text on dreams.

The text discussed the dreams that we have
at night when we're asleep
as well as aspirational dreams.

The illustrations fit into the layout like this.

Level 2 - design a personal logo

A personal logo - for me!

Level 2 - logo design

Logo for an illustration agency.

I was attempting to represent creativity and professionalism
together with friendly, personal attention.

Level 1 - illustration & layout of traditional proverbs

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Level 1 - magazine layouts

For this project we were required to design layouts for two different types of magazine using the same text for each layout.

I based the first layout on the news magazine 'Time' and the second one on the creative magazine 'Baseline'.
All the photographic work is original.
